~TheSketchPad~ Week 10

Its week 10 over at ~TheSketchPad~
Here is this weeks sketch & my take on it.

I made this layout with some old sheets of patterned paper that were gathering dust in my stash. Its a rather girly page for me. The page looks a little lop sided that's due to my bad cropping. These photos were taken in August 2001 on a break in Edinburgh, Scotland. My sister-in-law was always happy to pose for the camera back she was just 4 when they were taken. ~TheSketchPad~ now has 57 friends, but things have slowed right down over the last couple of weeks. What I want to know is what you want to see there. What types of sketches do you prefer? I like my sketches but I cannot guarantee my friends there will. There are some beautiful sketches around at the minute & I sometimes feel like mine are too plain & boring. However, on saying that some people have told me they prefer a basic sketch too. I always try to explain to people that my sketches are designed in the hope that they will appeal to everyone. Made by a beginner for beginners. Feel free to stop on by & play along, the more the merrier. I'm still new to this & I would love any feedback you can offer.

~ The Sketch Pad ~

It is week 9 over at ~The Sketchpad~ & above is this weeks sketch. I just wanted to share this sketch with you & a little story about how I became interested in creating sketches recently.

On bonfire night we moved over 300miles away to a new home, a military quarter on the south coast of England. Any of you who have lived in a military home will know just how splendid the curtains that come with these accommodations are. I was lying awake in bed one night when i realised the pattern on the curtains looked just like mini sketches. Instantly I got out my notebook & pen & began copying them down. You may laugh at this I know I thought it funny to begin with & even asked my friends if i was going crazy. I realised that this was not the case & that my hobby of scrap booking had taught me to see opportunity & detail in everything around me including my bedroom curtains. This sketch is one of nine basic sketches which I think give a perfect inspiration for negative space pages or even minis used to make cards. Using more Bo Bunny Flutter Butter scraps here is the page this sketch inspired me to create.

This is a husband free zone!

Wow for the first time in three weeks my house is husband free, it does feel strangely quiet & tidy I have to admit. He came home from work this afternoon only to be called back in an hour later & is working until Monday. So the plan from this weekend duct tape the kiddies to the ceiling & retreat to my scrappy space.

Have a great weekend everybody!

New Name

Just for those of you who do stop by occasionaly. I recently found out that there is a blog with a very similar name to mine. Therefore I have decided to change it to
~ ThisLittleScrapper ~

More BoBunny Flutter Butter Projects.

As promised here are my latest 2 projects using my January Scrapbook Kit from http://sarahscardsltd.com/ I feel like this kit has lasted me forever. I love this range of papers so much. I haven't even touched February's kit still & March's will soon be on the way. If only there were more hours in the day to scrapbook. I recently found my old sewing machine in the back of a cupboard & decided once i'd figured out how to use it I would love to give sewing on paper a try. As you can see on this layout my first attempt wasn't fantastic but I love the overall shabby look it has.
My favourite thing at the minute is to dig into my stash of scraps & get using them. I used some of the bigger BoBunny leftovers to create this paper roll album. I love how simple these are to make & also love that they are another way to recycle.

Monthly Kit Club ~ January Creations

At the beginning of the year I joined a monthly kit club with a local scrap store & wanted to share with you what I have created each month. I just got around to using January's kit as February's arrived & have got my order in for march too. I really outta pull my socks up & put my gorgeous papers & embellies to good use. I love how these kits have inspired me so far & made me think outside the box. Anyone who knows me well will tell you I love earthy tones, blues & greens living in a house full of boys pink & flowers are pretty much off my scrappy menu. Here is what I received in my January kit.

And here are is what I have done with it so far. (More projects to follow.)
