Sketchabilities DT Reveal ~ 30th April

I'm a little late in posting this reveal. But here it is, Karan's beautiful sketch. Please feel free to stop on by http://sketchabilities.blogspot.com/ and play along.
Here is my take on the sketch:

This sketch was perfect for this old photo of my grandparents taken on my wedding day 8 years ago. I love this picture but cropped it down into two smaller photos to lose the cluttered background. I experimented with acrylic paint on the chipboard hearts and behind the title, also inked the photo mats lightly with a brown ink. I love how this page turned out thanks to the perfect sketch I had to work with. I chose my title due to the fact that I cannot imagine my grandparents apart they have been married for over 50 years.

~The Sketch Pad~ Week 14

Once again it's Monday & that means a new sketch over at ~TheSketchPad~ http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=profiles&u=478379

This weeks sketch is in keeping with my favourite clean & simple style. I used this sketch to make a page for a challenge over at UKScrappers.com who had one of there fabulous cyber crops at the weekend. I must say it was my first time cropping with them & I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I got a lot more done than I expected that is for sure. Here is what I did with it. I used up some scraps & few alphas to create this simple yet fun page.

Sketchabilities DT Reveal ~ 15th April

Can you believe we are half way into the month already?! It's the 15th & that means it's time for a new sketch over at http://sketchabilities.blogspot.com. Are you ready for some new inspiration, you will not find this sketch anywhere else. Here is the sketch I created specially for the Sketchabilities team.

The design team have done an awesome job with this sketch, please stop on by & take a look. I am working on scrapping a lot of older pictures at the minute & couldn't decide what to do with the sketch myself but I love how my page turned out. Here is what I did with my sketch:

Any die hard Winnie the Pooh fan will recognise the title as one of Tigger's well used phrases. These pictures were taken of my youngest son in 2005. I'm not sure how old he was when these were taken & must remember in future to put dates on my photos. I'm assuming he was around 8 or 9 months old.

~TheSketchPad~ Week 10

Its week 10 over at ~TheSketchPad~
Here is this weeks sketch & my take on it.

I made this layout with some old sheets of patterned paper that were gathering dust in my stash. Its a rather girly page for me. The page looks a little lop sided that's due to my bad cropping. These photos were taken in August 2001 on a break in Edinburgh, Scotland. My sister-in-law was always happy to pose for the camera back she was just 4 when they were taken. ~TheSketchPad~ now has 57 friends, but things have slowed right down over the last couple of weeks. What I want to know is what you want to see there. What types of sketches do you prefer? I like my sketches but I cannot guarantee my friends there will. There are some beautiful sketches around at the minute & I sometimes feel like mine are too plain & boring. However, on saying that some people have told me they prefer a basic sketch too. I always try to explain to people that my sketches are designed in the hope that they will appeal to everyone. Made by a beginner for beginners. Feel free to stop on by & play along, the more the merrier. I'm still new to this & I would love any feedback you can offer.

I finally found a New Years Resolution I can stick to. A scrappy one! I wanted to try & make my own sketches, so I have & I am going to continue to. I even turned them into a challenge over at scrapbook.com. http://www.scrapbook.com/profiles/478379.html
I was sad to see the end of 52Sketches.... 52weeks & this inspired me to create something similar.
So far ~The Sketch Pad~ has 40 members & is growing everyday. I am hoping to provide other sketch lovers like myself with fun & inspiration. I hope it will be successful & time will tell. I thought i should blog about it as a marker of the start of a new adventure.
