Sketchy Thursdays ~ Crocodile

Well I didn't think I was going to have time to finish & post this weeks Sketchy Thursday's entry, but somehow I did. I really wasn't sure where to start with this weeks sketch. That I guess is always a good thing because it leads you to think outside of the box. I decided to start with 3 photos and figure the rest out from there. So here is what I came up with. These photos are my current favourites from all the things I have snapped recently. They were taken on comic relief day this year.

My journalling reads: Comic Relief - 18th March 2011. A record breaking 'On the night' total of £74,360,207 was raised. Victory Primary School staff & pupils raised a grand total of £496.97. My boys were proud to be apart of raising such a large amount.

My favourite thing about this page is the strip of tickets. I made them myself & they were so easy too. An awesome way to use up more of my dreaded scraps.

Supply List:

Cardstock ~ Bazzill Basics

Patterned Paper ~ K&Co Small Wonders

Tickets ~ Homemade

Brads ~ Card Candy from Craftwork Cards

Sarah's Cards Sketch Challenge

Here is March's fabulous sketch from Sarah's Cards. I saw it & I just had to play along this month. So as I was cropping online all weekend with some friends I made sure this was close at hand. Here is what I created with it. I rotated the sketch to suit my photos & just had fun with it.

Here are a few other pages I completed too. As you can see it was a very productive weekend for all! This also brings me back on track for my goal of a page a week in 2011.

How about a sketch?!

It's been awhile since I have drawn any sketches & feeling inspired earlier today decided to fool around. So out came the ruler & pen & here is what I did. My first time free hand drawing one too. Which reminds me I really need to download some programmes onto my new laptop. It's so fresh from my scrap space that I haven't even sat down to create a page with it myself yet! Not only did I draw this but I made two cards for Mother's day too.
I know 2 pages can be daunting, I'm not much of a 2 page scrapper. So you could use a single side instead. Just have fun & be inspired to create. If you find time or have the perfect project to use the sketch with. Please stop back here & post a comment linking your work. I love to see what other people create. If enough people post by the end of the month I will draw a winner at random for a RAK. My scrap mojo is really flowing at the minute. How about yours? Sending out some scrappy vibes to all my scrappy friends :)
Thanks for dropping by

Sketchy Thursdays ~ Noa.

So here is my take on this weeks Sketchy Thursdays sketch. A little last minute considering I loved the sketch from the second I saw it. I have just been tied up with other things to get a lot of scrapping done. I have a 100 different ideas for my boys school photos from before Christmas. When they brought them home I just couldn't believe they were my children.
I chose to use some of my patterned papers from the Happy Together line to add a little colour to my page. I wanted to keep it clean & simple on the whole. It turned out to be the absolute opposite. I forgot that I had unscrewed the lid of my Maya mist bottle & knocked it over my whole scrap table & also myself. Any sane person would grab a cloth but not me, I reached straight for my camera. My son laughed so hard, he agrees that I am a little crazy when it comes to taking photos of EVERYTHING! So just for entertainment purposes here is the best shot I got.

Well I guess it's time I got myself to bed! Thank you for stopping by.

Supply List:

Cardstock ~ Bazzill 12x12 White

A Weekend Round Up ~ Just Because

I don't normally post more than once a week but since I missed posting this week I thought I'd share what I have been working on over the weekend & a couple of funny snaps.
Firstly, Comic Relief was on Friday night. For those of you who have not heard of it, it's an annual fund raising event involving celebrities & people from all across the UK raising money to help others less fortunate. This years catch phrase was 'Do something funny for money'. My children's school decided fancy dress was the way to go & my boys ended up going dressed as a crocodile & a mime. As you can imagine I just can't wait to scrap these pictures.

Here is a shot of my dog Chester who was 6 on the 10th of this month! He is getting old fast, I delivered him as a puppy & he is like a baby to us. I just had to share this because it is so cute!

This is my entry for a challenge over at Scrapbook.com. This gorgeous chipboard frame comes from 3tailscrafts you should stop by there website & check them out there stuff is fab! I made this using the old traditional glass keys people used to give as 21st birthday gifts in the past. I think this is much prettier than they plastic ones available in the stores today.

Here we have my experiment with punching soda cans. This technique seems to everywhere at the minute so I thought I'd try it out. It turned out the only punch I had suitable or strong enough to punch through the aluminium was this small flower punch which was a magazine freebie. I made this card for my grandparents anniversary this week.

And finally last weeks Sketchy Thursdays 2 pager. I eventually got it finished. I must admit I enjoyed it it has been around a year since I did a double page. It's just a shame the picture turned out so badly. I can't seem to win lately maybe I ought to take up some beginners photography lessons.

Thank you for stopping on by, if you enjoyed this post please feel free to show some love.

Sketchy Thursdays ~ April GDT ~ Sweet Memories.

I have been trying hard to produce a layout a week since I started scrapping again recently. Once again with the help of Sketchy Thursdays I have whipped up a page that I L-O-V-E!
As my scrappy friends all know my crusade for 2011 & is to dig into those scraps & leftovers in my scrap room to free up some much needed space. So this is exactly what I aim to do with every page I create. This layout I went all out & used up some of those left over rub-ons that I just can't stand anymore. Not because they aren't nice but simply frustrate me to the heavens to use. I also incorporated the strips I trimmed from my main patterned paper to make the flower on the left hand side of the picture & cut out the green panel of card stock from behind the patterned paper to use above. Talk about making your scrap items S-T-R-E-T-C-H.

And... Here is what I came up with.

This is a picture of my brother & his daughter on vacation. The sketch I used was for the April GDT spot at Sketchy Thursdays & the only added specification was to incorporate spring colours into the page. Nothing screams spring to me more than green & pink. Not a conventional colour combo for me so I really enjoyed working with these colours.
